Project Brief and Description.
The existing house is a traditional styled Federation single level home to the street with sloping land and an under utilised two storied back living area adjacent to the back lawn, garden and pool. The redesigned backyard living area comprised a large open plan living, dining, kitchen area leading onto a large balcony which overlooks the garden and pool below. A staircase leads downstairs to a rumpus/TV room, laundry, bathroom and wine cool room on the lower ground floor level with a large undercover inside/outside terrace having level access to the garden and pool. Timber external doors and windows have been designed to maximise light and views and cross ventilation. The entire house external paint colour scheme was renewed and updated.
The Result.
Domus Homes produced a stunning renovation and addition to this Federation house in a style compatible with the existing home. The floors are polished natural timber throughout whilst travertine tiles were used for the external patio areas. Timber doors and windows were installed in keeping with the rest of the home. A large shaker styled kitchen, the main feature of this renovation, was installed in the open plan living, dining and kitchen area with Carrara stone benchtops and splashback, giving the kitchen a modern feel.
